2009 AIDS Walk & Festival

Please join us at the 2009 AIDS Walk. 100% of all money raised by walkers goes directly back into the community through our individual grant program to support our HIV positive neighbors as well as toward developing our education program.

In case you haven’t heard, last year’s walk was a huge success! Our community came together and broke records. It was a day of fun, sunshine, music, friends, family and compassion. Together as a community we raised over $60,000, all of which will stay right here in Hampshire and Hampden counties!

This year, we have the opportunity to come together as a community to make a difference once again.

2009 AIDS Walk & Festival

DATE: September 12th, 2009

TIME: Registration – 10:00am

Walk & 5K Run – 11:00am

Festival – Immediately Following the Walk

PLACE: Forest Park, Springfield, MA
Near Cyr Arena and the Grandstand
Please enter through the Main Gate on Sumner Avenue.

There will be plenty of parking. You are more than welcome to help the Foundation by paying for your parking at the gate or, if this is a hardship for you, please tell the gate attendant you are there for the Walk and we will cover your parking in appreciation for your attendance.

We welcome walkers, runners, bikers, rollerbladers, babies, and pets.

This year’s Festival will consist of special guests, kids’ games, live music, food, raffles, and much more. Be sure to check back regularly for updates.

REGISTER ONLINE
Our online features are better than ever this year! Like last year, you can create your very own personalized Fundraising Webpage. It is also enhanced this year so you can register for the Walk online.

Once you have registered, a Fundraising Webpage will be created automatically. After registering you will receive an email with your Fundraising Webpage address. You can then sign in and personalize your webpage. You can upload a picture (smaller than 100 KB), write about why this cause is important to you, and set a fundraising goal. After you are done entering all your information for your webpage, don’t forget to click on the “Save & Finish” button in the bottom right corner of the page and you will be ready to collect donations right there on your Fundraising Webpage.

You can register as an individual or create a team. A Fundraising Webpage will be created for the team as well as for the individuals. If you are the team captain and creating a team page, don’t forget to join your team by registering as a member of your own team. See below for more information on Teams.

Once you have finished personalizing your Fundraising Webpage, you can simply copy the webpage address and paste it in an email to send out to everyone you know to ask for their support. They can make a secure online donation to this very worthy cause by clicking the link to your webpage. That's it! It's that easy!

If you aren't able to join us on the actual day of the AIDS Walk, you can still create a personalized Fundraising Webpage or make a donation without registering by clicking here…

START A TEAM
Help us reach more people by starting a team. As team captain you can encourage all your friends and family to fundraise with you. You can form a team with your friends, neighbors, family, running club, old college friends, classmates, church/synagogue, co-workers, boy scouts, girl scouts, school club, youth group, Facebook group, social club, Red Hat club, book club, or anyone willing to make a difference. You may also want to challenge another team in a fundraising challenge to see who can raise the most money. Let us know if we can help in any way.
